required due to the use of the correct wheel spacers and 1/4 inch off set sprocket needed.
Installation GuideA degree of mechanical skill is required. When installing wider wheels and tires assure there is enough clearance throughout frame, exhaust, suspension and frame. Always use a bike stand or lift for safety
Swingarm Removal: (1) Remove the swingarm pivot tube bolt. (2) Remove bolts from lowering links that hold the shock to swingarm pivot. (3) Remove Chain and rear brake and brake hose. Now the whole rear end is ready to be removed, and now ready for new swingarm installation.
Swingarm Install: (4) Attach new lowering links if using at this time and then bolt rear shock to single sided swinagarm. Refer to
owners manual for torque spec settings and loctite use. (5) Swingarm mount is done. Now you can mount rear wheel with proper wheel spacers provided with rear wheel, make sure you have in
adjuster plates in correct direction, and while you push axel bolt from the right side, have in hand the rear brake caliper bracket if used with your original swingarm. Once all this is done then finger tighten axel bolt for now. (6)Now this is a good time to remove front sprocket and put in your new 1/4" offset sprocket. Most every motorcyle requires this to assure proper centering of a 240mm rear tire.
(7)Adjust the screws on swingarm to the same tick mark, this will assure the rear wheel is riding straight and not pushing more to one side. Reverse bolts to adjust plates to desired stretch. "Make sure you leave atleast 1" from end for future tightening. (8) Cut New chain to your overall stretch you desired. Once chain has master link in place, reverse swingarm bolts to push back on adjuster plates for final tightening of chain. If your not sure if extension chain is correct, pushing down on chain you should beable to see it having 1/2" play. (9) Now you can tighten up swingarm axel bolt to required specs and look over every bolt to assure everything has proper washers and where loctite is required it has been. (10) Now you can mount your new extended rear brake line and use new banjo bolt and crush washers to asssure to no leaking brake fluid causing break failure. (11) Now your ready to test out you new trickerd out big tire kit. When doing so, always ride with caution until you get the feel of the over sized rear wheel and your new turning abilities.
Choose from a chrome, black or aluminum coat finish.
